The Salmon River Outfitters NY The 5th Annual Catch & Release Steelhead Tournament!
JANUARY 30th On the Salmon River in Altmar, NY No Snow Dates ~ No Rain Dates ~ No Sissies 2010 years results - 1/31/10
- There are only a few givens in this world but one is that on the day of the Steelhead tournament it will be COLD! This year
we began at -13 and it got as "warm" as 9 and no, that is not wind chill! But after all, I think after 5 years we
would all be disappointed if the weather was any better well, maybe not for the guys from Virgina! The fishing was a little
slow on Saturday (today it is on fire) but everyone had a great time and there were some nice fish caught. The first place
winner for steelhead was Nathan Buel with a combined, length + girth, sized fish of 49" fishing with Captain
Dan. The second place fish and only an inch smaller was Lou Calabrese fishing with Guide Oliver. The first place Brown Trout
was a very nice trout with a combined size just under 40" caught by Mike Clark fishing with Capt. Ric. We had a great
dinner on Friday and lots of laughs and good fishing memories on Saturday. Thanks to Brenda for setting up the tournament
and Nancy and Kevin for all of their help! I suggest you sign up for next year's now as the spots are limited but the fun
is not!
